I am Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, San Diego, in the School of Global Policy and Strategy, a Research Affiliate at the Policy Design and Evaluation Lab, and a member of Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP). My work focuses on political behavior in international relations and comparative politics, democracy promotion and democratization, international aid and migration, international security, and experimental methods. My book, Monitors and Meddlers, with Cambridge University Press examines foreign electoral interventions and their effects on local trust in elections. My work has received financial support from the National Science Foundation, the Smith Richardson Foundation, the UCSD Hellman Fellowship, the MIT Election Lab, and the Princeton University Center for Human Values.
